8/20/14 Today we are heading up to Beazley Passage and Surge Narrows with Forever Young and her crew, Jenni & Jerry.... Slack water is at about 2:30 PM (+/-) so we head out and meander to the narrows. Some interesting sights along the way.
Just as we are ready to go through, we get a call from the animal clinic at home! We've had no cell service and for some reason, I'm able to answer the phone.... it's Garett who has been watching our pups while we're gone. Kobe (the teenager) jumped out of the "Gator" and broke his leg! :-( We had just a few minutes to pass on info to Garett before we loose cell service again and head through the passage. Our hearts are breaking!!!!! Garett has all of the info he needs to get Kobe to the specialist in Bellingham for surgery tomorrow, but not being able to talk on the phone now, is brutal! Thank goodness for our DeLorme In Reach right now as Garett is able to send us messages. Kobe is a trooper Garett says, and he is doing well.... as well as can be expected, anyway.

| Kobe, Buzz, Aidan & me on a previous Gator ride With the realization that Kobe is in good hands (THANK YOU GARETT!) and knowing that there is nothing more that we can do for him that Garett isn’t taking care of, we head over to Forever Young for a wonderful salmon dinner compliments of Jerry & Jenni. They had also invited another Selene owner (Alex on Wild Blue) who happened to be anchored in the same spot. It was another wonderful evening on the water surrounded by friends and family.   |
