8/22/14 We really took our time getting out of
VonDonop. We had to try the other hike
to Squirrel Cove trail head. It was a
great hike with lots of jokes about bears and wolves and when we got there, it
was exactly as the sign had advertised!
Squirrel Cove Trail head.
Which meant that we ended up on a road that led to Squirrel Cove, but it
was still another 2k there and 2k back.
It was getting late and we decided to just enjoy the walk and not the
destination. We still had prawn pots to
pull after all! And then we still had a bit of travel to Toba Wildernest Marina….
One of our very favorite spots up here.
It’s so special because it’s so remote and is owned by a little family
who lives here year round. It’s amazing
the “infrastructure" that they have put in to bring power into their cabin. What a treat to see the world through their
eyes. They are also the best hosts!
